RetroNick: Games Collector // Episode 42: In the Year 2000!
Episode 42: In the Year 2000!
Recorded on: 29 May 2013
Nick and James tackle some of the more difficult quandaries that future retro gamers are bound to face, as they talk about “THE FUTURE”. Will the industry finally realize it’s dream of scrapping the entire previous generation of games to make you buy all new crap? Have we tapped the creativity well? What happens 5 to 10 years down the road when console games launched with bugs can no longer access the patches to make them work? How do you live in a world where art has an expiration date?
The very notion of a future used games market is also called into question with some of the stories coming out about how the XBone will handle it’s previously played content with DRM.
We also read your captions from Weeks 15 and 17 of Caption this Crap!
